About Giant Campus Academy

What is Giant Campus Academy?

Giant Campus Academy (GCA) is a fully accredited online private school serving students in grades 6–12 and adult learners. GCA provides flexible online education through individual enrollment and organizational partnerships. Our programs are designed to help students continue their education, earn credits, recover credits when applicable, and work toward their academic and graduation goals.

Is Giant Campus Academy accredited?

Yes. Giant Campus Academy is accredited through Cognia.

Accreditation Information

Where can GCA students live?

Giant Campus Academy serves students in the United States and internationally, subject to applicable enrollment requirements. Students enrolling from outside the United States may be required to provide additional documentation.

Is Giant Campus Academy self-paced?

GCA provides flexible, asynchronous online learning, which means students do not attend traditional live classes on a daily schedule. Students have flexibility in when they complete coursework but are expected to remain actively engaged and make appropriate academic progress. Course timelines and pacing expectations may apply depending on the student’s enrollment.

Enrollment & Getting Started

What records do I need to enroll?

Required documentation depends on the student’s age, enrollment type, and academic goals. Documentation may include government-issued identification, a birth certificate and parent/legal guardian identification for minor students, enrollment and financial forms, official transcripts, applicable waivers, and other documentation based on the student’s enrollment. Our Enrollment Team will let you know exactly what is needed during the enrollment process.

How soon can I start?

Start times depend on the student’s enrollment type, requested courses, payment or funding arrangements, and receipt of all required documentation. Once enrollment requirements are complete, students may be able to begin courses in approximately 4–5 business days. Incomplete or inaccurate documentation may delay enrollment.

Do I need to notify my previous school?

GCA does not require students to notify their previous school. However, students and families are responsible for meeting any withdrawal, compulsory education, or other requirements that may apply in their state or through their current school. We recommend contacting your current school before making an enrollment change.

Do you accept international transcripts?

Yes. International transcripts may be considered for transfer credit. Transcripts that are not in English must be translated by an appropriate professional credential or translation service before they are submitted for review.

Do you accept homeschool credits?

Giant Campus Academy does not currently accept homeschool credits for transfer. Contact our Enrollment Team if you have questions about previous coursework or documentation.

Can students with disabilities enroll?

Giant Campus Academy welcomes eligible students and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics. As a private school, GCA cannot create or update an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or similar public-school plan. Limited accommodations or course modifications may be available depending on the student’s needs and our program capabilities. Please contact our team before enrollment to discuss available support.

Academics & Graduation

What courses does GCA offer?

GCA offers online courses for students in grades 6–12, including core academic subjects, world languages, career-focused courses, and electives.

Will I have a teacher?

Yes. GCA students receive support from qualified teachers. While coursework is primarily asynchronous, students can communicate with teachers and access academic assistance through available virtual support options.

How quickly are assignments graded?

Teachers are generally provided up to 72 business hours to grade submitted coursework. Additional time may be needed for assignments requiring extensive review, coursework completed significantly ahead of recommended pacing, or high-volume submissions. Students submitting more than 10 assignments within a 24- to 48-hour period should anticipate that grading may take additional time.

What are GCA’s graduation requirements?

Students seeking a Giant Campus Academy diploma must meet GCA’s academic and graduation requirements. Students must also complete a minimum of their final six credits consecutively through Giant Campus Academy to satisfy the Academy’s graduation residency requirement.

View Graduation Requirements

What is a graduation plan?

Students intending to graduate from Giant Campus Academy receive an individualized graduation plan after required official transcripts have been received and evaluated. The graduation plan identifies previously earned credits, remaining graduation requirements, and the courses the student needs to complete to work toward a GCA diploma.

Can I transfer to GCA during my senior year?

Yes, provided the student can meet Giant Campus Academy’s graduation and residency requirements. Because graduation requirements can differ between schools, transferring students may need to complete additional coursework to satisfy GCA requirements. We recommend submitting official transcripts for review so our team can help determine the student’s remaining requirements.

Does GCA offer Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) courses?

No. Giant Campus Academy does not offer Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) courses. All GCA courses and grades are unweighted, and the maximum cumulative GPA earned through GCA is 4.0.

Does GCA provide standardized or college entrance testing?

GCA does not administer state assessments, college entrance exams, placement exams, or AP exams. Students who need testing for college admission or another purpose are responsible for arranging testing through an appropriate testing provider.

How long do I have to complete a course?

A standard semester course worth 0.5 credits is generally designed to be completed within approximately 18 weeks. Students have flexibility in their pacing, subject to applicable course, enrollment, academic progress, and payment requirements.

Does GCA hold a graduation ceremony?

Yes. Giant Campus Academy currently holds virtual graduation ceremonies twice each year to celebrate our graduates.

Transferring & College

Can I transfer GCA credits to another school?

GCA is an accredited school; however, the receiving school always determines whether it will accept transferred coursework or credits. Giant Campus Academy cannot guarantee that another school or institution will accept a particular course or credit. Students taking courses with the intention of transferring them to another school should confirm acceptance with the receiving school before enrolling.

Will colleges accept a GCA diploma?

Giant Campus Academy is accredited through Cognia, and GCA graduates have continued their education after earning their diplomas. However, colleges and universities establish their own admission requirements. GCA cannot guarantee admission to a particular institution. Students should review the admission requirements of colleges or universities they are considering.

Is GCA NCAA approved?

No. Giant Campus Academy is not an NCAA-approved school. Students planning to participate in NCAA athletics should review NCAA eligibility requirements before enrolling.
